Teaching and giving back have been some of the most rewarding aspects of my career. I have hosted online workshops and regularly share free insights and tutorials on my social media channels to help aspiring artists on their creative journey.
Great design always comes back to simplicity.
Character design isn’t about being “advanced.” It’s about mastering the basics at a deeper level. Over the years, David has discovered that great character designs are the ones that are simple and clear. This is the foundation of his teaching philosophy.
His new book, ‘Character Design Essentials’, was released in 2025. It teaches the fundamentals of character design for both those just starting in this field and those looking to refine their skills.
David is also a husband and father, and lives with his beautiful family in California.
My journey in animation is driven by a passion for storytelling and bringing characters to life.
