Sean Andrew Murray
Sean Murray is an award-winning illustrator, who has built worlds for Lord of the Rings, D&D and Magic: The Gathering. He is also professor at Ringling College of Art and Design.

Sean is known for his highly detailed, line-driven fantasy illustrations and the Great City of Gateway universe he created.
Murray studied illustration at Syracuse University, earning a BFA before building a career in concept art spanning video games, comics, film, and television.
His projects include concept art for Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online. He was the lead concept artist on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and did illustration work for DC Comics’ ‘Sandman: The House of Whispers,’ and ‘The Book of Lorath’ for Diablo IV.
He received the Spectrum Gold Award for concept art in 2016 for his work on Court of the Dead and the 2020 Concept Art Award for Best Environment Art for a Live-Action TV Series. His work also appeared in ImagineFX and Exposé.
Beyond client work, he authored ‘Gateway: The Book of Wizards’ and teaches full-time as an illustration professor at Ringling College of Art and Design.
