Alix Hillmer

Based in Tucson, Alix works as a freelance illustrator and character designer. A self-proclaimed ‘desert brat,’ she grew up with art from the start, sneaking supplies from her parents’ shared studio and drawing from earliest memory.

She’s been drawing for as long as she can remember and decided to pursue her passion after several years of art school.  She continued to develop her skills as a self-taught artist.

Self-directed study after leaving art school sharpened her ability to blend the moods and genres she grew up with into a cohesive visual language. Her book, The Art of Cyanali, is being crowdfunded on Kickstarter.

I’m a playful person at heart, and have a love for all things bright, colorful, and cute, along with the creepy and dark.

She works from home, living with her husband, daughter, two dogs, and three cats, and also vends at conventions as an artist. Outside of her art, she’s an amateur lifter & runner who likes to get lost in an audiobook or the latest documentary.
