Anna Sokolova

She is the author of ‘Brilliant Inks‘, an internationally published guide to colored ink painting techniques. Her collaborations include Netflix, Wired, Tombow, ImagineFX, and Maison Margiela.

She began her art studies in Saint Petersburg and later graduated from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. While studying, she became professionally involved in visual narrative projects, participating in exhibitions and working with publishing houses and authors.

Anna is known for her modern Delft Blue technique, a contemporary take on the historical blue-and-white art form, which she uses in her magical realism artworks. Her art has literary depth and pairs beautiful imagery with a slightly darker undertone.

Her Netflix Originals series received a highly commended honor at the World Illustration Awards, among others. Her project for Maison Margiela’s Artisanal Collection earned a silver medal at the Society of Illustrators Annual Exhibition.
