Sketching + Picking your creature design

08:07

How to sketch creatures with a pencil

To get started, first warm-up those sketch muscles with a fun exercise. This helps tremendously to get into a creative flow. (Bonus: Get access to Eva’s personal playlist that inspires her while drawing!)

Then follow along with Eva, sketching out different ideas for your creature and further developing the ones with the most potential.

She’ll also teach you to think of the story that your artwork is telling, which is key to creating strong, winning designs.

Amazing process. It is a how-to-draw class, but not like most. It will teach you a process to create a monster, tools to refine your seeing skills, and practice suggestions to refine your drawing and painting skills, I do not have Photoshop so will play with Procreate more and see how it translates.
It's a way to imagine your creature into existence and tools to get it done. Needless to say, if your skill level is not high, your final product won't magically be at a professional level, but your skill level will increase, and can continue to do so using this process. And it was hugely fun.
