'Squash and stretch is a design principle based on the observation that some objects in motion change their shape more than others. A stiff object will remain consistent in form,⁠
while an elastic object changes in reaction to motion or pressure.⁠

By applying force to a static shape we transform it into a dynamic shape creating the appearance of motion. Think of squeezing a balloon—when you squash a balloon its shape changes but its volume does not.' - Wouter Tulp⁠
